Google may have been surprised by the great hue and cry that erupted when it discontinued its Reader service, but doing so seems to have energized the RSS 

field. One of the excellent apps that has emerged is ReadKit, which goes beyond the typical RSS functionality to provide all sorts of additional features to optimize the busy reader's experience on the Mac.

With the Google Nexus I/O just round the corner there are plenty of rumours doing the round as to what Google might announce at this event.According to a news report by AppleInsider, Google might be looking at launching a refreshed Google Nexus 7 at this year's Google I/O. The website is quoting Ming-Chi Kuo, an Analyst with KGI Securities, who shares that the next generation of Google Nexus 7 tablet will come with a high-resolution screen. It is expected that the tablet will have a 7-inch LTPS display with 1,980X1,200 pixel resolution.

Google has started displaying shopping results with search listings in India for select users.

What this essentially means is that when you search for a product, Google displays product listings from online retailers on the right side of the results page complete with product images, pricing and direct links under "Shop for 'Product name' on Google."

Google-Motorola patent fight


EU anti-trust officials said on Monday that Google-owned Motorola was abusing its leading position in Germany's mobile phone market by filing a patent injunction against Apple over some core smartphone functions.
A statement said that the European Union had reached a "preliminary view" on a competition investigation opened in April 2012.
It had decided that Motorola Mobility's action "amounts to an abuse of a dominant position prohibited by EU anti-trust rules."




Another online leak but this time the victim is "MOTOROLA XFONE"


Motorola and its much awaited smartphones have been garnering a lot of attention for the last few months. Though no one can say whether it is one device or an entire range of new devices that are being developed, that has not stopped the rumour mill from buzzing.
Now, Twitter user @evleaks has posted pictures of what appears to be Motorola's next flagship smartphone. In one of the images that showcases the back of the smartphone, the model name "XFON" can be seen. @evleaks has posted the caption "Blackboxed Motorola for AT&T", which indicates that this smartphone might be headed to telecom operator AT&T in near future.

This essentially means that users will be able to remotely access the computer of their Google+ contacts for the purpose of troubleshooting it, and will be able to video chat with them throughout the process.

Google's Superphone With Android 5.0.1

  

 Soon Google will hit mobile market with its superphone dubbed as Motorola X run on Latest Android 5.0.1.
This revelation is based on a report by Android Headlines via a Japanese blog Rbmen. This report suggests that Motorola X smartphone has made an appearance on the AnTuTu Benchmark results. This smartphone carries the name Google X, which is very similar to Motorola X and hence making the blog believe that these two may actually be the same smartphone.
Another interesting fact that has been unearthed through AnTuTu Benchmark result is that this Google X smartphone will run on Android 5.0.1 (aka Android Key Lime Pie). This means that Google's next version of Android could well be in Beta stages and on track to be launched at the Google I/O, which will be taking place in the month of May.

Helping IT departments gain more control over end users' Chrome browsers


Google has beefed up the administration and management controls that IT staff have over their users' Chrome browsers.
Google has added the ability for IT departments to apply the workplace configuration of Chrome browsers to Chrome browsers installed on employees' home computers.
That way, users working on their home computers can have access to their work Web apps, custom themes and app store by logging into Chrome with their Google Apps for Business or Google Apps for Education accounts, the company said Tuesday.
"With cloud-based management, IT administrators can customize more than 100 Chrome policies and preferences for their employees from the Google Admin panel," wrote Cyrus Mistry, senior product manager, Chrome for Business & Education, in a blog post.

Google discloses tech specs and developer API for Glass

The API is, however, a limited developer preview, Google said


The Google Glass wearable computer will have a high-resolution display equivalent of a 25-inch high-definition screen from eight feet away, and will capture 5-megapixels images and video at a resolution of 720p, according to technical specs disclosed on Monday.
The device will also support Wi-Fi compliant with 802.11b/g standards and Bluetooth, and has 12GB of usable memory, synced with Google cloud storage. It has 16GB flash memory in total.
Google has notified some users selected under its Glass Explorer testers program that some of the US$1,500 glasses were being produced and shipped in phases, according to reports.

  Google is trying the other side of the argument by reportedly asking a district court to set aside the latest National Security Letter it has received from the government. The super-secret method of requesting data on a company's users was recently declared unconstitutional, so Google may be banking on that and its legal and lobbying strength for its new defiant stand.





google is reportedly challenging a government request for private information on its users, just weeks after it became the first major tech company to release information about the security probes it receives from the FBI.
The tech giant is mounting a court challenge against a National Security Letter (NSL), a highly secretive demand issued by the FBI that asks Google to provide private information on certain users. The challenge, first reported by Bloomberg, is rare.
